08/08/09 Our New Murals and Our "Camp Edge" Vacation Bible School Closing Celebration!

Summer is a time of play and exploration for kids.  This year, St. Luke's UMC shared the grace of our Lord and Savior with many children through our Vacation Bible School Program, "Camp Edge."  We also celebrate the progress made on new murals for our church building.  Enjoy the photos of children laughing, playing, being mischievous, and--as seen in one mural--rushing to the arms of Jesus.   

 

 

06/15/09 Flag Day and Birthday Dinner

Our award-winning barbecue chef helped provide a delicious meal in celebration of Flag Day and in recognition of the birthdays of our church members.  After the morning service, we gathered for the meal. Thanks to all of you who helped make this St. Luke’s tradition a success.

 

05/24/09 Confirmation Sunday 

Confirmation is a rite of initiation in many churches.  In the United Methodist Church, confirmation is a rite where baptized individuals recognize the work of God's grace and embrace their discipleship.  This year, seven confirmands attended classes with our pastor.  During a special part of worship, the congregation, family members, and supporters gathered during the anointing with oil and the laying on of hands.  May the Lord bless each of these people who have taken another step in their lives in Christian discipleship!      

05/17/09 Graduate Recognition Sunday 

Worship during our traditional service on Sunday, May 17th included the recognition of our three High School graduates.  St. Luke's UMC offered them blessing, support, and encouragement in their future endeavors.

05/10/09 Mother's Day Dinner in Moore Hall 

On Sunday, May 10th, some of our youth helped celebrate Mother's Day with a dinner.  Some of our menfolk prepared and served the meal, while some of our youth honored their mothers through a talent show.  A special thanks goes to Mac, whose culinary artistry, management skills, and calm under pressure helped make for a delightful dinner!
