‘Never Again’ Turkey Dinner Set for Nov. 13

St. Luke’s annual “Never Again Turkey Dinner” is set for Sunday, Nov. 13 after church services in Moore Hall.

The event is a fund raiser for various church youth projects, and donations will be encouraged in exchange for a plate of traditional Thanksgiving food cooked and served by church volunteers.

The dinner has been a St. Luke’s tradition for decades and gets its name from a conversation organizers had immediately after the inaugural dinner (which didn’t have a name at the time).

“That was so much work, I don’t think I’m ever going to do it again,” someone said. And a blessed tradition was born.

(Pastor Pamela Dykehouse and others at the church report that the clever name has even caught on at other events at other  United Methodist Churches across the state and country.)

Anyone interested in helping to prepare the dinner should contact the church office this week.
