Neighborhood Prayer Walk To Highlight ’5th Sunday’ Services
A prayer walk through the neighborhood surrounding St. Luke’s will be a highlight of the events planned for the church’s “5th Sunday” worship services on Oct. 30.
The recently established “5th Sunday tradition” combines the church’s traditional and contemporary worship services into one special service on the last Sunday of month’s that have five. And this installment of the tradition will feature the prayer walk as a special conclusion to the “Extravagant Generosity” series that the church has been featuring in October.
For the prayer walk, the public is invited to gather outside Moore Hall at 9 a.m. and quietly march as a group through the church’s neighboring streets, pausing to recite prayers at various spots along the route. The entire walk should last about 30 minutes, and those who cannot physically make the trip will be accommodated.
Here is the full schedule of 5th Sunday events for Oct. 30:
9 a.m. – Prayer Walk
10 a.m. – Sunday School (regular classes will meet)
11 a.m. – Combined Worship in the Sanctuary
12 p.m. – 5th Sunday Lunch
Anyone wishing to contribute to the lunch should contact the church office.
