The ‘Church Campaigns’ Section

In an effort to stretch its funds for 2012, the St. Luke’s Mission Committee in charge of the Rebeka’s Cupboard Food Pantry Program is asking church members to bring envelopes of nonfat dry milk to church on Sunday’s in February. The envelopes will be distributed to the families that Rebeka’s Cupboard serves on the first Wednesday of each month. Each family  served by the program typically receives two envelopes, and donations this month will help curb the cost of buying those envelopes from suppliers in 2012. For more information, contact the church office or simply look for collection boxes on Sundays in February.

These are the Bible verses that St. Luke’s Members (and anyone else who is interested) will be reading this week as part of our year-long “Read Through The Bible” program. We hope that all who have committed to this blessed project (by signing the “Doers of the Word” poster on display at the church) will feel free to post their thoughts on these verses in the comment section below.  This program will include weekly meetings at 6 p.m. on Mondays throughout 2012. (This time may change occasionally to accommodate other activities t the church. St. Luke’s is in need of greeters for its Sunday services. Anyone interested should contact Harmon Stoops at hcstoops1@gmail.com.

We currently need 2 greeters for each door to the church and 2 greeters in the church parking lot in order to make Sunday worship as inviting as as pleasant as can be. These greeters are needed for the traditional service which begins at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays. All who volunteer to greet should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the service begins.
